Principal’s Message
I respectfully acknowledge the past and present Traditional Custodians of this land, the Larrakia people. It is a privilege to work and learn on Larrakia country.
At Nakara Primary School, we provide a tailored educational experience that fosters critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration. This is achieved through a rigorous teaching and learning program which prioritises high-level student engagement with curious, confident lifelong learners. We aim to ensure all learning is inspiring, challenging and engaging.
The foundation of all learning is built on strong, positive relationships between staff and students. Our high expectations of staff, students and the wider community are reflected in our outstanding achievement data. Clear expectations, constructive feedback and school pride all come together to ensure all our students have the best opportunity to achieve success. The staff at Nakara Primary are highly motivated and enthusiastic, work collaboratively to plan and deliver a learning program that meets the needs of all students, with a strong focus on prevention, intervention and extension. They work hard to create positive and welcoming environments where students feel supported to take risks in their learning.
Our school values (BEST) and learning dispositions (STRIVE) are consistently integrated into our learning programs, ensuring that students understand their importance to lifelong success.

We work closely in partnership with our school community to obtain the best possible results for all students. Throughout the year our community comes together for a number of school events, including fortnightly assembly performances, discos, concerts, My Sisters Kitchen, athletics carnivals, swimming carnivals and many more. These events further strengthen Nakara Primary links with the wider community, as well as giving our hard-working students the opportunity to have some fun.
Nakara is committed to working towards and maintaining best practice school-wide sustainability initiatives. Our school community, led by the Eco-Warriors student leadership team, has worked hard to earn Eco-Schools Australia Bronze Award accreditation.
Nakara Primary School is zoned for enrolment, see details on our enrolment page to find out if you live in our feeder area.
Please contact our office if you have any questions about our school or require information regarding enrolling your child/ren.
